Quote of the Week

Via Edward John Craig at Planet Gore, Newt Gingrich and Henry Waxman get into a tiff over the Democrats' plans to regulate (see: punish) energy industries to promote the latest "Green" cause du jour:

Gingrich: "We didn’t build the trans-continental railroad by punishing stage coaches."
Waxman: "Well I am glad you’re not in charge of foreign policy."
Gingrich: "I don’t think of the American people in the same terms as foreign dictators."

  1. I'm astonished at the lack of aggressiveness on the part of the Republicans... or should I say Replaced-by-Fear-icans. Gingrich has, with this comment, just begun to be a gray scale shadow of his former self... speaking with some authority & assertiveness.

Newt, could you please rally the troops & keep this up & stop saddling up to the enemy as you have on this issue in the past... they are going to hate you anyway, no matter what you say.

  2. Not only does Mr. Waxman look like a Harry Potter character most of the things he claims as ideas also come from a make-believe place. Thank GOD he's not the President!

  3. The Republican's better start embracing conservatism or at least anti-socialism or they will never rise to power again. I held my nose and voted for McCain to prevent Demwits from arising to power. A Demwit is only a Socialist Democrat, unfortunately domineering that party. Then the Republicans act like Demwits (I call them Republic-cons). Whoever starts embracing America's predominant moral ethics and desire for freedom will rise to power. I want to see a much clearer division with Socialists than I have seen lately. Remember if actions do not follow words then actions speak a lot clearer than words. Speaking of words, isn’t it amazing how ‘religious’ politicians are at election time and how they act like the Devil after getting into power. American’s want real people that love America, not con artists that take advantage of those who elect them. (Or people like Obama who say they love America yet denigrate it all over the world).

People that have 'eyes to see' and do not lie to themselves can see that that the bigger the government is then the smaller the people are - becoming less and less significant, except for their money and around election time, when every devil becomes religious to con the people!
Perhaps Congress was properly named for these times - with emphasis on 'CON'. Perhaps President now should be Global Resident.

To politically correct JFK's statement: 'ask not what your country can do for you but how you can be dictated over by your country's leadership'.

  4. The whole world is laughing at the debacle we as Americans allowed to happen. Al Queda is laughing the loudest. I feel sorry for the critical mass that will be destroyed in their next attack. Hoping I want be part of that, but it's almost like just another way to get out of this mess. Stupidity is more pandemic than the swine flu. And our elected representatives are all infected.
